National–Louis University's
College of Arts & Science Presents:

No Honor Among Thieves:
A Look at Forensic Mental Health

August 22, 2008
8:30am - 12:00pm

Description:

We are inundated with media images of high-profile crimes every day.  Criminal activity perplexes and often frightens us—who are these criminals, and how do we explain their behavior?  More importantly, how does the law interpret criminal behavior within the context of mental health?  This seminar presents an overview of issues pertinent to forensic criminal psychiatric evaluation and their impact on the legal system as a whole. We will discuss specific cases of interest I have evaluated as a forensic psychiatrist for the Circuit Court of Cook County, one of the largest court clinics in the country.
