The Modern Role of the Library in Adult Education

Conference Description
The Modern Role of the Library in Adult Education follows a 1937 Institute at the University of Chicago entitled, Institute on Adult Education for Librarians in Service, and explores how the library effectively serves adult learners and adult educators.

Issues that will be explored in the conference include:

  • Adult Education and the library
  • The academic library and the adult student
  • The public library and the adult student
  • The digital divide between resource and the adult student
  • The library's role in American life

The goal of The Modern Role of the Library in Adult Education conference is to bring national voices of the library and the voices of adult education together for a day of learning on how libraries can best meet the modern educational needs of their adult learners.
